The upcoming Wonder Woman reboot stars Israeli model and actress Gal Gadot. Born and raised in Rosh HaAyin in north-central Israel, her first name means “wave” and her surname means “riverbanks.” Gadot grew up planing to become a lawyer, but when she was 18 she won the 2004 Miss Israel competition and competed in the Miss Universe pageant that year. After military service, Gadot did enter university to study law, but in her first year of school she was called to audition for the part of the Bond girl in 2012’s Quantum of Solace. She didn’t win the part, but the casting director hired her to play the role of Gisele in the Fast & Furious film series.
She has been a feature of campaigns for Captain Morgan rum, Gucci and Vine Vera skincare; she has been on the cover of Cosmopolitan, Glamour and Bride Magazine. In preparation or her role as Wonder Woman, Gadot trained in swordsmanship, Kung Fu, kickboxing, capoeira and Brazilian jiu-jitsu. She is signed for two future sequels after the Wonder Woman film is released in 2017.
